The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

Those who do not study the past...

I'm tired today and am staying home to watch the debate. Can I thank the universe again for creating a person like Jon Stewart? Because he has gotten me through some very troubling times.

How creepy is this head to head the brilliant folks at the Daily Show created?

The Daily Show Bush speech head-to-head WAS awesome. I'm so glad I can watch full eps on the internet the next day (since i don't have cable). Am wishing I had something to do shots for a debate drinking game.
